You hit publish.
You refresh your sales dashboard.
You post on Instagram, throw in a trending TikTok sound, light a candle, and whisper, “Let this book find its people.”
And then… crickets.
No reviews. No messages. No viral moment. Just you, your book, and that haunting question:
“Did I launch into the void?”
The Summer Launch Struggle Is Real
Let’s be real: summer launches can feel brutal.
People are traveling, offline, chasing sun instead of stories.
And even if your book is brilliant (which it is), the internet is quieter, and you start questioning everything:
- Did I promote it enough?
- Should I have waited?
- Is it the blurb? The cover? My entire existence as a writer?
The answer is: no.
You’re not the problem.
The algorithm isn’t personal.
And timing doesn’t define your book’s worth.

Your Launch Doesn’t End After 24 Hours
We treat book launches like weddings. One day. One shot. Big splash.
But guess what?
Your book doesn’t expire.
You can re-promote it next week. Or next month. Or in the fall.
You can change your blurb, reboot your cover, run a giveaway, or just… talk about it again.
The best part about being indie?
You’re allowed to relaunch. As many times as you want.
Here’s What Actually Matters
- Your book is done. That’s huge.
- You’re learning what works—and what doesn’t.
- You’re building something long-term. Not a trend, but a career.
- Someone will find your book. And it’ll be the right someone.
Even if your launch was quiet, your story still matters.
So take a breath.
Go get a popsicle.
Then come back and share your book like it’s the best thing you’ve ever made—because it is.
